The ÜNAL 4-Column Flotation Machine is a multi-column column flotation test unit designed for laboratory and pilot scale studies, allowing direct comparison of different column diameters on a single platform. Integrating four columns into one system makes it possible to evaluate scale effects more clearly under the same feed and operating conditions, supporting meaningful process optimization and scale-up validation.
Compared to mechanical flotation cells, column flotation typically operates under a lower-turbulence hydrodynamic regime. This calmer environment can improve selectivity, especially for fine particles, and supports the formation of a cleaner and more stable froth zone. With ÜNAL’s multi-column configuration, changes in bubble structure, froth behavior, and recovery trends can be observed as the column diameter increases, enabling side-by-side evaluation in a controlled setup.
Precise Air Control and Froth Washing
Each column includes independent air flow adjustment, allowing fine control of bubble generation and gas rate per column. The system is also equipped with adjustable fan-type froth wash nozzles mounted at the top of the columns. Froth washing helps reduce entrainment of gangue minerals into the froth, contributing to improved concentrate quality.
Full Process Visibility
All columns are manufactured from transparent Plexiglas, enabling real-time visual monitoring of key flotation phenomena such as bubble distribution, froth zone stability, and phase separation. This visibility makes the unit particularly valuable for R&D programs, reagent screening, and flotation process optimization.
