WORKING PRINCIPLE

Sieve Shaker is a sample preparation device that allows materials to be separated into certain size ranges. The device works with the help of Ø400 mm sieves placed inside. The process takes place with these steps:

  • Sample Preparation: The sample is poured onto the top of the sieves arranged on top of each other placed inside the device. Each of the sieves has a certain mesh size and the material is classified according to this mesh size.
  • Shaking Motion: The device produces a shaking motion to pass the sample through the sieves. This movement allows the materials inside the sieves to pass through the sieve eyes. During the sifting process, the device makes an infinitely adjustable shaking movement at a speed of 0-300 rpm.
  • Separation of Particles: The sample poured from the top is sieved in layers depending on the mesh sizes of the sieves. While the larger pieces remain in the upper sieves, the smaller pieces pass through the smaller sieves and are collected in the bottom layer.
  • Collecting the Results: After the sieving process is completed, each of the sieves is removed one by one and the materials collected in each sieve are analyzed. The lower collection container collects the smallest sizes of materials.

The device is suitable for both dry and wet sieving processes. In wet sieving, the material is sieved with water, thus ensuring more efficient separation of especially fine particles.
