WORKING PRINCIPLE

The Sieve Shaker is a sample preparation device designed to separate materials into specific size ranges using Ø200 mm sieves. The process unfolds as follows:

  1. Sample Preparation: The sample is poured onto the top sieve in a stack of sieves placed inside the device. Each sieve has a specific mesh size that classifies the material accordingly.
  2. Shaking Motion: The device generates a shaking motion to move the sample through the sieves. This vibration allows particles to pass through sieve meshes based on their size. The shaking speed can be adjusted steplessly from 0 to 300 rpm for optimal separation.
  3. Particle Separation: As the sample moves downward through the sieve stack, particles are separated by size. Larger particles remain on the upper sieves, while smaller particles pass through to the lower levels, ultimately collecting in the bottom layer.
  4. Collection of Results: Once sieving is complete, each sieve is removed to analyze the material collected. The bottom collecting pan gathers the smallest particles.

The sieve shaker is suitable for both dry and wet sieving. For wet sieving, the material is processed with water to improve the separation efficiency, especially for finer particles.
