Vibratory Disc Mill HO-1500

DESCRIPTION

ÜNAL HO-1500 Pneumatic Clamping Ring Mill is a high-performance grinding unit developed for laboratory-scale sample preparation. Commonly referred to as a vibratory disc mill, ring mill or pulverizer, it rapidly reduces hard, brittle and medium-hard materials into a fine, homogeneous powder.

✅ Grinding Set Capacities: 50cc, 100cc, 250cc, 400cc
✅ Grinding Set Materials: Agate, Tungsten Carbide (WC), Heat-Hardened Chrome Alloy Steel

In its redesigned structure, the manual clamping system has been replaced with a pneumatic clamping mechanism. This allows the grinding set to be fixed inside the unit more practically, safely and consistently. Operator handling is reduced while a more standardized clamping force is achieved in every grinding cycle.

The ÜNAL HO-1500 Ring Mill is designed to grind hard, brittle and medium-hardness materials into fine, homogeneous powder in a short time. It is particularly suited to preparing representative and homogeneous samples ahead of XRF, XRD and similar analytical methods.

Key Features

Pneumatic Clamping Mechanism: Used in place of a manual clamping system, the pneumatic clamping structure secures the grinding set more practically and safely.

Grinding Set Detection System: The machine will not operate unless a grinding set is placed inside it. This feature ensures safe use, protecting both the operator and the equipment.

7″ Touchscreen Control Panel: With English menu options, all operating parameters can be easily adjusted through the user-friendly touchscreen.

Infinitely Variable Motor Speed: The vibration speed, adjustable between 700–1100 rpm, lets you select suitable grinding conditions for different material types.

Programmable Grinding Time: Grinding time can be set in seconds or minutes, providing precise time control during sample preparation.

Program Memory: Frequently used grinding recipes can be saved to the device memory, saving time on repeated tasks and establishing a standardized workflow.

Real-Time Parameter Monitoring: Operating parameters such as motor speed, motor current, frequency and grinding time can be monitored in real time on the touchscreen.

Adjustable Rotation Direction:  The grinding set can run both clockwise and counter-clockwise, and these two directions can be applied sequentially within the same operation.

Sound-Insulated Cabinet: Acoustic insulation materials used inside the unit reduce the noise generated during operation, providing a more comfortable laboratory environment.

Safety Front Lid System: A safety system that prevents the lid from being opened while the unit is running enhances user safety.

It is the upgraded version of our HO-1000 Pulverizer.

Safety

  • The fully enclosed cabinet structure prevents direct contact with moving parts.
  • The machine will not run unless a grinding set is placed inside it.
  • Thanks to the lid safety interlock, the unit cannot be started until the lid is fully closed.
  • The lid stays locked during operation, preventing operator intervention.
  • The lid safety interlock remains active even when the machine is switched off, preventing unauthorized opening.
  • The pneumatic clamping system ensures the grinding set is fixed safely and correctly.
  • The emergency stop button allows the unit to be stopped quickly and safely when needed.
  • The touchscreen includes operator and administrator user modes.
  • Administrator mode allows critical operating settings to be changed only by authorized personnel.
  • Operator mode provides the basic functions needed for daily use, preventing unauthorized parameter changes.
  • The enclosed cabinet structure helps keep dust and noise generated during operation under control.

The HO-1500 Vibratory Disc Mill can be used with steel, tungsten carbide and agate grinding sets. The grinding set should be selected according to the sample’s hardness, abrasiveness and the required analytical precision.
Steel Grinding Sets: Suitable for general-purpose grinding.
Volumes: 400 cc, 250 cc, 100 cc, 50 cc
Tungsten Carbide Grinding Sets: Offer high wear resistance for hard and abrasive materials.
Volumes: 250 cc, 100 cc, 50 cc
Agate Grinding Sets: Preferred for contamination-sensitive applications where chemical purity is critical.
Volumes: 100 cc, 50 cc
By selecting the most suitable grinding set for the sample type and analytical requirement, more efficient, reliable and repeatable grinding results are achieved.

APPLICATION AREAS

Our Vibratory Disc Mill is suitable for grinding a wide range of materials. Some uses include:

Mineral ores (copper, iron, gold, chrome ores), concrete, ceramics, coal, glass, quartz, corundum, granite, slag and cement clinker, some industrial wastes, etc.

Working Principle

In the HO-1500 Vibratory Disc Mill, materials with a particle size smaller than 15 mm are placed into a suitable grinding set. The sample quantity and the grinding set to be used are selected according to the type and hardness of the material and the desired grinding fineness.

The prepared grinding set is placed in the pulverizer chamber and the lid is closed. Once the lid is closed, the safety interlock engages and the unit becomes ready for operation. The grinding time, operating speed and the desired program / recipe are selected via the touchscreen control panel.

When the unit is started, the grinding set is automatically locked by the pneumatic system. The grinding set then performs a high-speed vibratory motion, applying impact, pressure and friction forces to the sample inside. Under these forces, the sample is reduced to a fine, homogeneous powder within a short time.

When grinding is complete, the unit stops automatically. Once safe operating conditions are confirmed, the lid can be opened and the ground sample is taken for analysis, quality control or other laboratory processes.
