Working Principle

The Tiltable Ball – Rod Mill is designed to provide efficient and effective grinding for sample preparation processes. With a tilting mechanism controlled by a handwheel, it allows for easy adjustment between grinding and loading/unloading positions.

  • Material Loading: The grinding material is placed inside the mill, and the adjustable tilt simplifies the loading process.
  • Grinding Process: When activated, the balls or rods inside exert mechanical forces on the material, breaking it down quickly and reducing particle size. This process continues until the material reaches a uniform powder consistency.
  • Rotation Speed Adjustment: The mill’s rotation speed can be continuously adjusted between 0-300 rpm, allowing for optimal speed settings based on critical speed calculations for both balls and rods, ensuring ideal grinding conditions.
  • Collection of Results: Upon completion, the axial opening lids facilitate easy collection of the ground material, making it ready for analysis or further processing. The design also allows for easy cleaning, streamlining preparation for the next grinding cycle.
